HISTORY Mother: Heloise Rowle nee Lestrange Father: Thaddeus Rowle Siblings: Lilith Lenore Rowle - 25 Brother Rowle - 23 Partner: Isabel Elara Rowle - wife Exes: Various Children: None Others: Lestranges, Belroses, Drakes TW: abusive, narcissistic parents A son! Huzzah! The Rowles were dangerously proud of their success, talking up their son, talking of what a wonder he would be to the world. An heir to their fortune, their success! Their success with the most bluest eyes you ever did see, almost crystal, right from birth. The reality? He was all but mute. A nearly silent baby, an almost silent child. He didn't speak a word to the world because as a young Rowle he always felt as though there was too much pressure to perform. His parents had him on all fours as a baby, trying to get him to crawl before he could even hold his head up alone. They had him standing before he could even sit alone, always trying to get him to be the best, to be advanced. Pressure. Pressure Pressure. That's all there was for Tristan. Despite not being the son Thaddeus and Heloise had wanted, Tristan was still their heir, he was the future of their family and they treated him as such, boasting about his accomplishments, throwing him into study after study, trying to teach him above his capabilities all the while worrying that they were potentially raising a squib. He still wasn't talking as much as they would have liked but at least he could talk so that was enough. There were no signs of magic. Not one. His parents were almost cruel in trying to coax it out of Tristan, they tried to frustrate it out of him by pretending they couldn't see or hear him. It only lasted four days. It came to an end when they realised he hadn't noticed much of a difference - if anything he was enjoying himself all the more. So they tried punishing him for the smallest indiscretions, they made him kneel on rice, hoping he would turn it to something soft, they left him behind on a trip to Bora Bora. It took three weeks for him to get himself home but he did it all the "muggle" way. His parents had no idea how he'd done it and he never shared any details of his adventure, but he was home. At the age of ten, Tristan became a big brother to a little sister. He was besotted with her, absolutely adoring of her and would read to her every morning and every evening. Tristan's parents had all but written him off, he had until August to get his Hogwarts letter or they would brand him a squib and be rid of him. He was only their heir so long as he was magical, if he wasn't magical then they were going to be in need of another. They had tried for a second heir, their spare, and had been given a daughter, one they loved and doted on from the second she came into their lives because, unlike her brother, she displayed bright magic from the moment she was born. His sister was a wonder to her parents, and to Tristan, but Thaddeus and Heloise decided it would be best to have a proper spare heir and so they would try again in a few years. Tristan Thaddeus Rowle, the boy whose parents were so close to giving up on, was given a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. His parents were so relieved they threw him a celebrational party with as many people as possible. They still boasted of every single one of his accomplishments only now they didn't have to worry about disowning him. To them he was absolutely perfect. Tristan wasn't a fan of all the attention, but it made his parents happy when he stood beside them and smiled as they praised him. It was uncomfortable but tolerable, and besides, Hogwarts wasn't too far off, he would only have to tolerate their bragging for another couple of months, he could handle that just fine, he was well versed in it. Sorted into Slytherin, Tristan only went on to make his parents more proud. They had also been in the house of the Snake and so they boasted once more to friends and family. An obnoxious pair if ever there was one, but Tristan was glad he wasn't about to get disowned, he was actually rather fond of his parents, he even actually loved the pair of them, even if they were ready to cast him aside. Tristan had been raised to believe in blood purity, he knew it was something special to be a pureblood but he didn't believe it made him any more talented than say a muggleborn, although he did feel far superior to muggles, but he'd been helped by the muggle community before when he had to find his way home from Bora Bora, he knew the kindness of humanity. Hogwarts was a grand adventure. Tristan fell in love quickly with potions. He had a talent for it and enjoyed creating his own concoctions. His parents, of course, boasted about his superior potion making skills, talked of how he was going to cure the world of all those nasty problems that plagued it, and perhaps Tristan could have done that, perhaps he could have spent his life curing the world's ailments, if only he hadn't been lining his pockets with money from the sales of potions designed for a good time. His parents had hoped Tristan would join the quidditch team but he played Magical Chess instead. He made his way to Grand Master and his parents were remarkably proud, although they still encouraged him to try out for the quidditch team - which he pretended to consider but never really had any intention of trying out. Tristan loved to fly, he even loved to play Quidditch in a friendly game, but he wasn't the competitive sort, he just never saw the point of it. After Hogwarts Tristan's parents pushed him towards a career in the ministry. He had a job in the department of International Magical Cooperation for five years before he moved on to train as a Healer. He trained and worked on the Potions and Plant Poisoning ward for six years before he seized the opportunity to buy the apothecary in Diagon Alley that had gone up for sale. Being his own boss, having his own small staff, doing what he enjoyed. Tristan is loving his life, loving his shop which he's had for 11 years now! Naturally his parents bragged about what a huge success he was meanwhile Tristan just got on with his life, enjoying his work, selling potions and potion ingredients from his shop in Diagon Alley.
