PERSONALITY Likes: Order, routine, anything with pastry on it, people who make the first move, having a nice home, competition (only if he's winning), family time, reading, bettering himself in any way. Dislikes: People rearranging his things, a noisy home, jerks, arrogance, being rushed, bad manners, competition (when he's losing), public speaking (awkward), being pushed out of his comfort zone. Positive Traits: Hard working, intelligent, kind, patient, understanding, dry humour, quite funny once you get to know him, traditional, well-mannered, willing to go the extra mile, selfless, loyal friend, helpful, great at teamwork. Negative Traits: Stubborn, competitive, sarcastic, awkward in social situations, hates partying (please make him party), can be a stick in the mud, too serious sometimes, will push buttons of those who push his, romantically awkward, emotionally unavailable until you get past his barriers, did I say awkward? King of weird looks and eye rolling. Children: None Others: N/A Kit Montague was born in the middle of a snow storm. He'd been due on new years day but his mum always told him he was just too comfortable and made them all wait an extra week before he put in an appearance. He had a shock of dark brown hair that stuck with him through childhood, warm golden eyes that looked green in certain lights and brown in others, and a lopsided smile that always made his dad chuckle and give in to every whim. Not that Kit was a demanding child. He was quiet and content to do his own thing, often spending hours reading, or playing quietly with his toys. He had younger siblings, three of them, but he was never rowdy even when he played with them. He would watch over them and make sure they behaved themselves, an old head on young shoulders, his mum said. Kit could have fun, too, he liked a good joke with his little brother, and he humoured his sisters by letting them put ribbons in his hair and playing dress up with them. All four Montague kids could often be found playing catch or quidditch in the garden whatever the weather, Kit making sure the younger ones were alright, even as he played. He was the first to go to Hogwarts, sorted into Ravenclaw. He had a quick mind and picked things up easily, a quiet nature that leant itself nicely to learning new things and focusing in lessons. It was strange not having his siblings around to fuss over, but Kit made a few good friends at school to keep him company. He wasn't the most outgoing kid. He avoided parties or loud group situations, and preferred to hide away in the common room or library rather than sit out on the grounds playing truth or dare on the weekends. Was he shy? No. Just socially awkward and more comfortable in small groups. He didn't try out for quidditch or other clubs, though he did sign up for duelling in his sixth year once he realised that he wanted to become a hit wizard and it would help him with his career goals. He loved a good duel and enjoyed working out alone, keeping himself fit and making sure he was in the best condition he could be to make those ambitions a reality. Kit had his first kiss at seventeen. It was with a girl he'd been friends with since first year, and she'd kissed him out of the blue one day in the common room, something Kit was pleasantly surprised by since he'd had a bit of a crush on her for a while but was never brave enough to act on it. They dated for a long time, staying together when they left school, and she supported Kit when he went into the ministry to train to become a hit wizard. She had ambitions of her own, wanting to travel the world as soon as she had enough money, and after three years of working, she sat him down one day and told him that she was ready. She was planning to go to America next month, and she wanted Kit to go with her. Kit was devastated, but he held his ground. He had his life here now, his dream job, a nice house, his family. He couldn't just up and leave it all behind like that, even for a woman he loved. So, she left and he cried into a tub of ice cream every night for two weeks before he pulled himself together. Kit stayed single for a while before another love came around. He focused on work and love found him in the form of a healer with the gentlest hands. That relationship lasted for two years and ended a year ago on good terms. It turned out they weren't as compatible as they once thought, and once the spark had fizzled out Kit knew they were just boring each other, so they called it quits. He has a crush on a guy at the ministry at the moment, but he'll never do anything about it. Instead he puts all of his energies into his job, taking down bad guys, kicking arse, sitting alone at night with a good book. Maybe he should get a cat...
