She flew into the world early, her mother needing an emergency c-section because her firstborn was just that impatient to get going. She was tiny and adorable, the sweetest thing her father ever saw, and every time she cried, bubbles flew out of her mouth into the air for the first week of her life. Being muggles, Darna and Geoffrey had no idea what was going on. They were panicked, thinking their daughter might die. Was there something wrong with her lungs? Was she drowning? Why were there bubbles coming out of her? It was the strangest thing they'd ever seen, and there wasn't a doctor in Brighton who could figure it out. It stopped after a week, and Jas was just a normal, healthy baby, which was a relief for her parents, but they never forgot the weird ailment she was born with. Perhaps it was because she was born early? Whatever the reason, it didn't put them off having kids, and by the time Jas was three she had a baby sister. Her childhood was pretty simple. They weren't well off, but Jas and her sister didn't want for anything. They had a nice home and went to a decent muggle school. Her sister hadn't had anything weird happen to her, so their parents were happy to forget Jaswyn's little baby blip and enjoy their two lovely daughters. Jas was a dreamer, she would talk to the fairies in the back garden, and sing with the birds in the park. A little bit odd, some called her, but her dad always defended her. "She's just being a kid. Leave her be." He was right, she was just being a child that had too much imagination. Or maybe she was special. Maybe, just maybe she was a witch. It was confirmed when a visit from a professor from a special school happened when she turned eleven. Apparently this school was magical, and Jas had a place there. Her parents took a long time to talk it over. Jas was thrilled at the idea of going to a magical place. What if there were fairies there that she could talk to!? It took a month before Darna and Geoffrey decided that they wanted to let Jas try this Hogwarts place. They told her about her baby bubbles and said they had an inkling that she was different all along. Hogwarts was the best thing she had ever experienced in her whole life. A real castle! She was going to live in a real castle! Between the talking hats and the magical boats, Jas was in her element. She felt like she really belonged, and was sorted into a house called Gryffindor by said talking hat. What did that mean? She had no idea, but she looked great in red and gold! She made friends eagerly and lapped up all Hogwarts had to offer, throwing herself into every lesson and club and taking on far too much. It was when she was due to start her third year that the first bit of trouble reared its head in the form of her sister. She'd always been a bit jealous of Jas, and in the summer when she would have gotten a visit of her own from a Hogwarts professor, she had a massive tantrum in the living room, screaming at Jas that it wasn't fair! "Why do you get to be magical and I don't!?" Her screams were hysterical, tears pouring down her face. Jas felt bad for her and was about to hug her until her hair burst into flames. Jas screamed, her head literally on fire until her mum wrapped a blanket over her to put it out. Jas was rushed to St.Mungo's where they treated the burns. Her beautiful hair was gone, but they gave her a potion to help it grow back quickly, and there was no scarring as the flames hadn't reached her face, thankfully. The only good thing that came from that day was her sister tapping into her magic. So there were two Totberry siblings at Hogwarts, and Jas spent the first year avoiding her sister just a bit. She felt bad about it, and she knew her sister was sorry, but it would take a while for her to get over the shock of it. At least her hair had grown back. She stuck with her own friends and focused on her own school journey, kissing boys, going on Hogsmeade weekends with her best friends, enjoying parties and cheering for quidditch matches. She made the most of every single second of her time at Hogwarts, and when it was time to leave and get a job, she knew what she wanted to do. Her sister accidentally setting her head on fire opened her eyes to a whole world of magical accidents just waiting to happen. She wanted to help people in those situations, so she joined the muggle-worthy excuse committee, her muggle heritage being perfect for the job. Eventually, she worked her way up to obliviator, and when the head of the department left, she didn't hesitate to jump into the position, loving the fast paced work and the fact that she got to help out in such a huge way. Protecting the magical and muggle worlds was equally important to her, and she goes above and beyond every day to make sure magic doesn't end up where it shouldn't be, and muggles stay safe and oblivious.
