Not only did they come from great magical stock, but they were gifted with the most amazing son just a year after marrying. Fin was an absolute superstar of a baby. A head full of dark hair, twinkling sapphire eyes, a giggle to melt the frostiest of hearts. He was perfection! Okay, so he was a handful and kind of a little shit that made his mother claim to have premature wrinkles, but they did love him and spoil him rotten. Mostly his mum, his dad was always strict, but that was to be expected in pureblood circles. Fin never questioned how harsh his dad could be with him, thinking it perfectly normal. Fin was the heir to the Avery fortune, he had a lot to live up to, and boy did he try. He loved being made to feel special and important, and grew up with a sense of being far more important than he actually was in the grand scheme of things. His little sister coming along was just a thorn in his side. He didn't mind being a big brother, and he supposed it was better than having another boy around to threaten his claim as heir, but Fin and Annabelle never got along. She was whiny and their dad spoiled her, never strict with her like he was Fin. Urgh. Fin couldn't wait to get stuck into school. Hogwarts was going to be an absolute blast, and he was going to rule the place. He'd been raised to know what kinds of people to mix with and who to avoid. He didn't really care about it all on a personal level, blood was blood at the end of the day, but he was a dutiful son. He had to be or his dad would make his life hell and cut him off. So Fin, sorted into Slytherin, of course, went about his school years with the confidence and arrogance of someone who thought himself special. His friends were all from pureblood families, and he steered clear of muggleborns like a good son. He had a quick mind, and lessons were easy for him. Fin hated to be bored, so the more challenging lessons were his favourite, Transfiguration, Alchemy, Arithmancy. He wasn't really sure what he'd need in life, his dad wanting him to go into the ministry when he left school, but it was nice to have impressive grades under his belt just in case. He was arrogant and loud, but he was no fool, Fin looked out for number one above all else, and that included his family. He dated a lot at school. From his fifth year he was in high demand with the girls at the castle, and absolutely revelled in it, snogging in broom cupboards, meeting up in secret places for weekend hookups, flirting his way around the castle. He never really got attached to anyone, especially after one blonde Ravenclaw (a Ravenclaw of all things!) snogged someone else behind his back in his sixth year. That was a massive bruise to his overly large ego. All of the girls he dated more than once tended to have bad things happening to them, breaking out in boils all over them, their hair falling out, just really random ailments. It took him until his seventh year for Fin to figure out it was one of the Slytherin girls, Jovian, who was doing it. She didn't know he knew, but he had his ways of getting information. And he found it really bloody hot that she was jealous of whoever he dated. She was gorgeous, and they mixed in the same circles at home as well as in school, but it wasn't until they had both graduated that Fin made a move, asking the little psycho out. He left school and rather than going into the ministry, Fin took his chunk of the family fortune and opened his own shop in Diagon Alley. An antiques shop that dealt with magical items being brought in for him to sell, though he liked to keep any of the more useful or dangerous items for himself. His twenties were a whirlwind of romance, wild nights, adventure, and learning the ropes of running a business. He learned to become an animagi, thinking it would be something really cool like a wolf or a tiger. His first proper transformation was a bit of a shocker when it turned out he's a squirrel (though it would come in handy when his future kids found it hilarious to chase him around the garden in squirrel form). His business was going well, he was racking up his own fortune outside of his dad's money, and he had Jovi by his side, putting a ring on her finger was one of the best decisions he ever made. Marrying the little psychopath was the best thing he ever did, and Fin was the happiest he'd ever been. He expanded the business, hungry for more money and status, opening branches all over the united kingdom and even a few in europe. The money was rolling in, and Fin was rolling in it. Until Jovi fell pregnant with their first child. The money went out pretty fast at that point because they needed a bigger house, the best of everything for their firstborn, and nothing less would do. Their son, Killian, was born when Fin was thirty. He'd gotten all of his partying out of his system (mostly), and was ready to raise himself an heir. He hadn't realised how hard babies were, and the mess that came with Killian stressed him out no end, doubling when a second son came along just a year later. Little Evander brought more poo and barf and more toys scattered everywhere. Fin wasn't a fan of that part of fatherhood, but he did his best. The boys are older now and he absolutely loves it. He can have fun with them and be his usual wild self without fear of breaking them. Little Raina, their only daughter, is the only messy one left in the Avery manor, but Fin would do anything for his tiny princess. He's a fun dad, a crazy, passionate husband, and one hell of a businessman. (He also still hates his sister, but she runs her own beauty line so he puts up with her to keep his skin looking youthful and glowing. Needs must.)
