Out of the three Everwood sisters, Echo was born last and had no name for a month after her birth, since her parents couldn't decide what suited her best. Eventually, her father chose the name Echo, because she looked like a mini version of her mother, and so was her mother's "echo". The name Arista was given as a middle name as it was already on their list of favourite names. She was a good girl who loved a lot and was a bit too honest sometimes. Her father always told her how wonderful she was every day, and she knew she was loved unconditionally, even if she wasn't the cleverest (Aeon), or the sassiest (Nova). Echo was more in her element with physical things. She loved being in the garden getting her clothes full of mud, twigs in her golden hair and a smile on her face. Being Half-blood, she grew up in a normal house that belonged to her father's muggle family, nothing fancy, just big enough for the family of five, and she spent her time equally on magical and non-magical activities growing up. Her parents were both huge animal lovers, both being Zoologists in their own worlds, and Echo inherited that love of animals, and could often be found in the back garden trying to attract stray cats, or in next door's garden playing with their dogs and guinea pigs. She had a healthy, happy upbringing, and was happy to receive her Hogwarts letter (she's never been the most excitable person on the planet) when she was old enough. She would be with her sisters, and that was just fine with her. She was sorted into Hufflepuff, which she had been expecting. Hard working, loyal and a little bit fierce when it came to her heart, she fit right in in the basement, and made some amazing friends. She was never the brightest student and struggled a lot with quite a few subjects, needing a tutor at points which was embarrassing. She thrashed out her frustrations on the quidditch pitch, becoming beater in her second year and absolutely smashing it. When she was thirteen, Echo's life changed forever. The summer holidays came, and only three days had passed when it happened. The family received a phone call from her father's work to say he had been rushed to hospital after a freak accident. He and two of his co-workers were trampled by a rhino, the other two men survived with severe injuries, but Echo's dad died. She always wondered if he had been taken to St. Mungo's instead of a muggle hospital that he might have survived. She learned to conjure a patronus a few years later and was shocked to see it take the form of a rhino, but it comforts her in an odd way. Never one to give into sadness for too long, Echo grieved quietly for her father every day, and promised herself that she would always try to do what would make him proud in life, which is still something that gets her through the tougher days. She threw herself into her school life more than ever the following year, sneaking cake out of the kitchens and taking brisk walks through the forbidden forest, which seemed to help a lot with any issues she had. Or, you know, just punching someone in the face. She was made quidditch captain for the Hufflepuff team in her fifth year, and shone in the role, leading her friends in the game that she considered to be one of her biggest strengths, since she wasn't too great at her lessons. A girl's gotta shine somewhere. Boy, did she shine. She graduated and joined the Appleby Arrows as a reserve, working her way up to a permanent spot on the team. She loved the travel and excitement that came with the job, but made sure to spend her first few paychecks on securing herself a home. She liked having a solid base she could go back to after a hard day on the pitch. She dated a few frogs trying to find one she could see herself settling down with, but relationships always seemed to go wrong for her. One lasted two years and then they got jealous of her hanging around with any other men, including her teammates. Another drank like a fish and tried to drag her down a dark path which she wasn't having. The most recent one broke up with her three times over the course of the last three years until she finally had enough of being messed around. All the while, she was in love with one of her best friend's brothers, which hasn't been easy. She jumped around a few quidditch teams before settling with Puddlemere United. She's now their captain and knows she's not going to be in the game forever, but she's going to enjoy every last second she has of her career and hold onto it for as long as possible.
