One of six sons of Wesley Wilder, a lounge room owner, and Elizabeth Oakley, a muggle historian, Ty was the double of his dad as a baby. He had twinkling brown eyes and a shock of dark hair, and the same cheeky smile that his mother loved so much on Wes. Ty was always curious, always asking questions and wanting to experience life to the full as soon as he could walk and talk. Coming from a muggle family, he got himself into more than a few scrapes during his childhood, falling out of trees and crashing his bike into the river that ran along the back of their house. He was always fine, but magic would have come in handy. Wes and Lizzie had no idea that magic existed, though. None of their children showed signs of magic, and why would they? They went to a muggle primary school and did normal muggley things, until one day a very abnormal person showed up on their doorstep. This man, a wizard, so it turned out, wanted to speak to Ty's oldest brother, Theo. Ty with his scraped knees and messy hair and eager brown eyes, peered through a crack in the door to listen in. Theo had no idea what to expect but sat with the man anyway and listened to him speak about a magical school that he thought Theo might like to go to. But why? Magic wasn't real, it was just something people learned for TV shows or circus acts. The man pulled out a wand and pointed it at Theo's shoelaces, which undid themselves and tied themselves together in a knot. Ty stared through the crack in the door, his mind whirling with a million thoughts. Theo questioned the man intensely, but still found it hard to believe that magic was real. Until he forgot about his tangled up laces and tried to walk across the room. He tripped and fell, but didn't slam into the floor. Instead, his fall slowed, as though the whole room was in slow motion, and he managed to put his hands out to catch himself before he could crash into the coffee table and hurt himself. Ty saw the whole thing, watching with his mouth hanging open. Whoa. The man claimed that Theo had done that, but again, he struggled to believe it. None of the WIlder family could wrap their heads around it, but their mum was really eager for Theo to go to school at a castle, her inner historian squealing with delight at the prospect. It would be an adventure, if nothing else. She was sure the curriculum would be perfectly normal. So Theo went to this magic school, which turned out to be really magic, and the Wilder boys all followed one afte the other. Ty was terribly eager for his turn to go to Hogwarts and see this magical world with his own eyes. After running through a wall, eating a frog made of chocolate that jumped out of his hand three times, riding on a boat that floated itself across a huge lake, and sitting under a talking hat, he was convinced that his mum had sent him to a loony bin. The talking hat said he would be in a house called Gryffindor because he was brave and curious and loved adventure. Ty didn't have a clue what that meant. He sat at a table with red and gold clad students all cheering for him, and felt silly. He felt silly for the first couple of months of his Hogwarts education until it sunk in that he was actually a wizard and could do real magic. Then there was no stopping him. He threw himself into his education, taking a real shine to it. A fast learner and very eager, he picked things up quickly and though he got teased for his ears sticking out a bit too much - thanks dad - he let it roll off his back. He was a bloody wizard! Hell yeah! By his fourth year his ears didn't stick out any more, and he had a whole new set of troubles to deal with. He was made prefect, he was in duelling club and he discovered astronomy club which he loved, but he didn't expect that gaining a few inches in height and a tan over the summer would turn his world upside down. Girls. Girls everywhere. Even girls that he'd been friends with for years were suddenly acting weird around him, and some would grab his butt in the hallways and bat their eyelashes at him, and BAM! He learned how to snog pretty fast that year and it was actually kind of wonderful. His studies were going as well as ever and his social life was picking up, too. He loved going to Hogsmeade with his mates and having a laugh, roaring loudly for Gryffindor during quidditch matches, and chilling by the lake on summer evenings, laughing until the sun went down. His school life was a dream, and he graduated with all O's, ready for an amazing life in a world he had never known existed before. Ty got a job as an intern at St. Mungo's after graduation. He loved the thought of helping people, and he'd been really into potions and herbology at school, so he thought he might work as a potioneer for the hospital, whipping up medicines and elixirs for patients. That was until he got bitten by the healing bug. He discovered that instead of making medicines for the sick and injured, he actually enjoyed helping them instead with a more hands on role. Or wands on role. Ty excelled in the role, going on to get a full time position on the potions and plant poisoning ward where he was perfectly happy. He met a gorgeous healer there when he was twenty. She worked in the maternity ward and Ty was smitten with her. They dated for three years before he proposed. His life was literally perfect. He had an amazing job, a stunning fiancee, and he was heading towards a beautiful family life. Until she found herself a job at a hospital in Australia. Australia! Ty was all for adventures and travel, but he couldn't just tear his whole life apart to move to the other side of the world. Needless to say, they broke up and he went back to being single and not quite ready to mingle. Ty focused on work and travel for a bit, helping his dad open another lounge in Diagon Alley, The Spirited Speakeasy, they called it, and he loved seeing his parents get involved in the magical world. He dated on and off for a while, getting himself into a few more serious relationships, though he was unwilling to propose after his previous failure. That was until six months ago. He had been seeing a gorgeous woman that worked as a singer in his dad's lounge. She was so talented, and he'd loved watching her perform, spending far too much time in the lounge on nights out instead of his usual haunts. She was captivating, and he couldn't resist asking her out. Nova, her name was, and she shone like a supernova when she was on stage. She agreed to a date, and then another, and now they're engaged and planning a wedding. He was made head of his department at work a few years ago, and once again, his life is heading in that beautiful direction that he'd thought he'd been on track for decades ago.
