Saint Mungo's
Molly May Weasley II
PERSONALITY Likes: Her family, baking, feeding her loved ones, her job, her friends, clubbing (the music is great for drowning out thoughts) Dislikes: Burning something in the oven, patients that won't tell her what she needs to know, people accusing her of being cold, losing a patient, shitty patients that she would secretly rather let suffer or worse. Traits: Kind, generous, giving, motherly, rambly, hopeless romantic, clever, resilient. Thinks she always knows what's best for others, can get a little nosy from time to time, blunt and occasionally charmless. Abilities: Healer - Fast with a wand, good with non-verbal and wandless magic but by no means an expert or anything. She's still got to work a bit on that bedside manner but she's excellent under pressure. Molly's also a natural Legilimens, although only those closest to her are aware of it. HISTORY Mother: Audrey Weasley nee Abbott Father: Percy Weasley Siblings: Lucy Noelle Weasley Partner: None Exes: None Children: None Others: The whole Weasley, Granger-Weasley, Potter, Longbottom, and Abbott clans! Life as a Weasley was never dull or boring. There were always people coming and going from their home, they were always coming and going from others home, and Molly was absolutely doted on by her namesake - her grandma Molly. She was like a double of the woman, always running around the matriarch's home, pretending to do magic to keep the jumpers kitting, to keep the multitude of dishes washing, to add wood to the fire place in winter, but that wasn't all Molly would do. Molly learnt her most important life skills at her grandma's side - to kiss booboos, learnt to comfort people, to bake, and most importantly - how to brandish a harsh tone and switch to a motherly smile in the blink of an eye. From a young age, Molly always had a inkling of when people were lying to her. It was a gift, a talent that she'd no doubt picked up from her grandma Weasley - the woman was a human lie detector! But the older Molly got, the clearer people became. She could start to hear their thoughts in any given moment. It was easier when they were in the room with her one-on-one, she could only hear the thoughts at the front of their mind, their most prevalent and prevalent thoughts. She started keeping things to herself once one of her cousins thought of her as a 'creep' for always knowing what they were thinking. She tried not to let it bother her but deep down it gnawed away at her. Molly didn't want to upset her family, she never wanted to intrude on their privacy and so she practiced her control on the subject, delving into books about mindreading and stumbling across the art of Legilimency at the age of ten. She studied the books she'd borrowed from the library back to front, taking them out for months at a time, dreading the day that she would go from being around the thoughts of her family to being around an entire castle full of people. Being a Weasley, it didn't take long for the Sorting Hat to sort her. Molly had always known that she would be a Gryffindor and so when she sat on that three legged stool in front of the great hall on her first day of Hogwarts, she kept her mind on Gryffindor, trying to block out all the thoughts cascading around her. The hat touched one strand of her luscious red hair an called out 'GRYFFINOR' to the hall. There was an eruption of cheers from the lions present and Molly bounced merrily off to join her new housemates. Hogwarts was fun but challenging for Molly. While her natural moral compass would tell her not to cheat, sometimes she just couldn't help herself. She would hear people's answers to questions the teachers asked and if it seemed right to her, she would shoot her hand up quickly and get the answer in first, sometimes she didn't even realise the thoughts weren't her own. Molly loved the praise she got from her Professors, she adored being adored but she did try to work on her impulse control. Her mother and father would always tell her how proud they were of how she was doing in school and Molly would continue to strive for perfect grades, finding the library's quiet ambiance supportive to a stimulating and thought provoking environment. So few people liked to go there for much other than taking out books that Molly felt she had a beautiful and enriching space to study and do her homework in without exterior input from others. In Molly's third year of Hogwarts she tried out for the quidditch team. She loved flying and she made an excellent chaser. The thoughts from the stadium and the thoughts of the players on the pitch were far enough away that she couldn't see what was coming next. Everyone was driven on instinct so there was hardly any thoughts that crept into her mind other than her own. She'd never experienced a freedom like it before and so she gave herself over to the sport, flying high, taking daring shots, making dangerous passes but ultimately landing herself as the most valuable player on her team. The following year she was made Captain and Molly and her team thrived. She loved quidditch, she loved all things magical, and she loved her family and professor's encouragement and praise. Fifth year at Hogwarts was more of a challenge for Molly but she rose to the occasion. With a shiny Prefect badge pinned to her lapel, Molly performed her Prefect duties, maintained perfect grades, and captained the Gryffindor quidditch team with a lot of hard organisational skills, although it left little time for friendships and absolutely no time for romance. Molly told herself over and over that romance was silly, a waste of time. She would have plenty of time for relationships after Hogwarts, that was her plan. Seventh year rolled around and Molly was Head Girl. She was still the Gryffindor quidditch team captain and she was still pulling in perfect grades. Her friendships dwindled and whatever crushes she may have had were gone. She had no time for that. She was focused on becoming a Healer once she left Hogwarts, it was the perfect career path for her. She loved to help people, she was smart and quick enough with her wand, she was an expert in Herbology and Potions, and she could use her skills to see what was really wrong with people, listen to what they weren't telling her. It seemed like the perfect career for her, Molly thought, and so she buckled down and pushed through her seventh year, graduating and celebrating her hardest, yet most successful year. Immediately after Hogwarts, Molly was accepted to Saint Mungo's to train as a Healer. She had thought just focusing on her new job would leave her time for friendships, to perhaps start dating, but she had no idea just how much studying there was still left to be done. She threw herself into learning everything she could, to being the best Healer it was possible to be. She was excellent at diagnosing and healing her patients, although her bedside manner was something she was constantly getting notes on. She could be too harsh with the patients at times and she would sometimes talk over them. Not being absolutely perfect at something started to get to Molly but she kept it all in and wouldn't talk to anyone about it, she had a problem and so she could fix it. She worked on herself, read, mostly, about how to give a more welcoming and polite bedside manner for her patients and around other staff because she was starting to notice that all the other interns had friends and she had no one. She made an effort, reaching out to a few, and they welcomed her into their little group with open arms and Molly found that having friends helped her with her work, helped her to be more personable, and helped her to loosen up and have some proper fun - something that had be sorely missing from her life. At the age of 19, Molly finally had her first kiss, although she barely remembers it. A late night out with friends, a lot of dancing and drinking and she snogged a friend of a friend on the dancefloor of a club nearly all night. Molly hadn't been one for any sort of relationship in the past but could this have been the start of something? That night they went their separate ways but she was looking forward to hearing from him. A couple of weeks went by. She'd heard nothing from him. She sent an owl but it came back, her letter either undelivered or he didn't want it, either way Molly felt silly and crushed. She became fearful of what could happen to her heart if she let her guard down too much. She'd felt devastated when she'd not heard back from one random guy, how would she ever feel if she took a chance on someone and they crushed her heart? Molly dated but she was sceptical of men and what their intentions were after. No man ever got past a second date but she told herself she had to focus on work. Molly loves the idea of love, at heart she's a romantic, but before she gives herself over to someone, she wants to make sure they're Mr Right, not Mr Right-Now.
