what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stand a little taller "Yeah, yeah. That'd be great. See you then." Beau smiled and gave his friend a pat on the shoulder as the bloke walked away. Well, 'friend' was a giving term. Beau had not spoken to the bloke since they'd been at Hogwarts together, but clearly the guy was a fan and had rambled on at Beau about the good old days and how they'd talked that one time in Charms, and Beau had made him laugh. Beau couldn't recall the incident in particular, but he remember the bloke, and when she said he was having a Christmas party and wanted to invite Beau along, Beau couldn't say 'no'. He knew he had the date free and he couldn't see the harm in going along to one party. A couple of weeks later and Beau was stood in front of his hallway mirror, pushing his hair about until he found a position he liked. Not that it mattered, he was apparating in a second and then walking in the blistery winter winds of December to a party where he knew he'd only know one person, not including AJ who he'd asked to come along and would probably leave without warning if the things were dull, the added benefit of AJ was he was always the centre of attention in some way, which Beau was banking on tonight. Beau was happy to go with the flow but he preferred not to be the centre of anything. He could chat with people, get along with everybody he came across but he could only feed on the energy of the room. With AJ there it was almost guaranteed to be good. A Christmas party had the potential for a lot of fun. Happy with how he looked, Beau disapparated from his apartment and landed in an empty ally next to the building he needed to be in. He spotted AJ ahead and greeted his brother, checking his watch to find they were running fashionably late and so he walked around the corner and found himself let in to the building by a doorman. Swish. He was greeted by some dressed up bloke in a suit at a desk and he wondered who would need so much pomp in an apartment complex. His building you just had a buzzer to let people in, this place had a bloody doorman and someone asking for his name, "Beau Belrose, here for the O'Shallaghan bash." He beamed his pearly whites at the guy as he checked a list. Beau found himself hoping that he was on there, even though if he wasn't he had an excuse to do something else for the night, but seeing this grand foyer, with plush sofa's and chairs, fresh flowers and even a small fireplace in the corner, he kind of wanted to see the rest of the building. The Belroses were shown to the lift and given a floor number to get off at. He made his way in and pressed the button for the 31st floor and made his way up. Stepping off there was only one set of double doors in the white, pristine hallway that looked like someone lived there. He stepped up to knock but he doors swung open and Colm O'Shallaghan was there greeting him with a huge smile and a warm hug. Beau returned the smile and patted Colm on the back, looking awkwardly at AJ. He introduced the pair to one another and Colm invited them into his apartment. It was wide and there was white everywhere. Beau couldn't believe he was allowing people to walk around with food and drinks while he had white furniture and white floors. Beau felt as though he needed to kick his shoes off so he wouldn't mess up the carpet. Colm eventually left the two of them to it, both with a drink in hand. Beau turned to his brother and raised his glass of Champaign, "Cheers." His eyes fell on a real life partridge sat in a pear tree in the corner of the room. Merlin he was glad his brother agreed to come with him tonight

got the heart of a hopeless romantic, can you imagine Molly hadn't particularly been looking forward to the night. She'd known Colm for a couple of years and over that time she'd been on a couple of dates with him. She felt she owed it to herself to give him a chance because they did get on well as friends, but dating just didn't seem to be for them. Still, he invited her every year to his Christmas shindig and every year she went. Some people she only caught up with at the party, it was their annual catch up 'Hey, how's life?' 'So good, how's yours' 'Kind of shit' 'Oh no' 'Yeah, okay, see you next year!' 'See ya!' It was all rather droll, but the booze was always good, and he put out the best spread of food, showing off his wealth anyway he could. "Oh Merlin's backside." Molly's eyes followed the newest additions to join the not-so-little soiree that Colm O'Shallaghan was throwing at his ridiculously extravagant penthouse. She nudged Lucy with her elbow, wanting to make sure that her sister saw who had arrived over an hour past the start time of the Christmas party Colm was throwing. "Lu!" Molly's mouth hung open just ever so slightly. Molly was a Cannon's fan, through and through, but there wasn't a woman alive that could resist watching Beau Belrose fly around the pitch. It was a well known fact that the Montrose Magpies had the hottest players of any quidditch team, and one of them was at the same party as Molly and Lucy, and he had a hot friend too! Molly was internally screaming, pleased as punch that no one could hear her thoughts because they would be absolutely deafened.

YOU CAN BE A SWEET DREAM or a beautiful nightmare Angel was freezing his arse off in the street waiting for Babs to show up. He had no idea who's apartment they were about to rock up to, but he would never turn down an excuse for a good party. He just hoped it wasn't a total dive when they went inside. He spotted his baby brother coming down the road towards him and rubbed his hands together for warmth, grinning. "It's about time." Angel was always early, it was something he'd picked up through his work. Being late never got you the good stuff, in fact, it was highly detrimental for a cursebreaker. You snooze, you lose, and so he'd been standing outside that building long enough for his fingers to feel like they were going to snap off, and the heat from inside the building hit him in the face like a warm hug from an old friend as they were let inside by the doorman. Angel looked around, pushing his hair behind his ear as Beau took the lead, giving his name and getting them directions to what could only be the penthouse. "You didn't tell me this guy was loaded," he muttered as they got in the lift and whizzed all the way to the thirty-first floor. The place was like a palace, all white and immaculate. Angel could see his reflection in the floor if he looked hard enough, and a guy his brother's age greeted them happily, inviting them in and seeing that they had drinks. Angel had seen some flashy things in his life, but the partridge in the pear tree took the biscuit. He almost snorted his drink out when he spotted it. "Is this guy for real? Have you been here before?" He didn't know what Beau got up to in his free time, but if he was kicking around with blokes like this, then Angel needed to hang out with him more often. His eyes roved over the room, taking in the people, the decor, the extravagance, the mud on the pristine white rug. He pulled a face and turned around, eyes landing on a pair of cute redheads across the other side of the room. One was dressed in a hot Mrs Claus outfit, and he gave her a little wink and nudged Beau. "We have admirers. Bagsy the tall one." SWANSKI

DRENCH YOURSELF IN WORDS UNSPOKEN live your life with arms wide open Colm's Christmas parties were the best. Not because they were particularly upbeat or overly fun, they were fancy and schmancy and full of beautiful people. Lucy preferred to get down and dirty at a real shindig, but she adored being Molly's plus one for this one because it meant she got to have a good old nose around a mega rich person's mega posh home. The things Colm had just for the sake of having them were ridiculous! If she'd have been raised differently, she might have felt the desire to pinch a thing or two knowing he likely wouldn't even notice. Alas, Lucy did not need a solid gold toothbrush holder, nor did she need the little crystals that were filling vases all around the living area. She was sure they were only crystals, but a small part of her wondered if he'd be ballsy enough to put real diamonds on display like that. As it was, she was an upstanding citizen, so she satisfied herself with mooching around to see what new stuff he had. "Did you see the crystal elves over by th-?" Lucy was cut short by Molly exclaiming loudly down her ear. "What? Have you split your dress?" She turned to glance at the back of Molly's dress, but she couldn't see any snags or tears. She'd told Molls she was taking a risk wearing something with fluffy bits, but Molls never listened. "What's wro-?" She cut herself off this time as she followed her sister's gaze across the room to where two gorgeous blonde studs were standing nursing drinks. They had the swishiest long hair Lucy had ever seen, and as she watched, the older one gave a wink in Molly's direction. Luce was busy staring at the younger one. He didn't half look familiar. "Is he from school?" she asked, unable to put her finger on it. She definitely recognised him from somewhere. There was only one way to find out. She grabbed Molly's hand and started to tug her in the direction of the gorgeous blondes. "Come on. Let's go and say hi." There was no point in being shy, there was a party to be had. SWANSKI

what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stand a little taller Beau had no idea that Colm was wealthy, not even an inkling. He supposed he'd been well dressed and had a nice watch but Beau wasn't observant like that, he thought Colm was just dressed nice for a meeting or work or something, he had no idea the bloke had what looked like diamonds sitting around his home. It was all overly flashy for Beau's tastes but to each their own. It wasn't as if he needed to ever do this again. "Huh." AJ was right, there were a couple of cute redheads and they were making their way over, "You can't 'bagsy' people. What if she thinks you're a twat." Beau grinned cheekily at AJ before turning his smile to the redheads that had joined them, "Hello ladies, you're both looking very festive tonight." It was great to see people making an effort and Beau regretted not being a little more Christmasy himself. One of the redheads was dressed as a sexy Mrs Claus while the other was a sexy disco ball, the lights around the room bouncing off her dress. If she went out in the street she'd be a traffic hazard, although Beau suspected she was used to being distraction that caused accidents, people were certainly going to turn their heads to look at her.

got the heart of a hopeless romantic, can you imagine Luce didn't recognise Beau Belrose but wanted to go on over to the pair of adonises anyway and Molls was up for that. Luce took her hand and Molly took next to no tugging to join her sister in approaching the two most gorgeous men in the room. "Uh- Montrose Magpies ringing any bells?" Molly could hardly believe her sister sometimes. Honestly, how did she not recognise the hottest chaser in the British an Irish league standing right in front of her? Molly loved quidditch, followed it religiously and she knew she wasn't the only one in the room that recognise him. she could hear a murmur of thoughts flowing around, people wanting to ask for autographs. She wouldn't be asking for an autograph or anything like that, the guy didn't want to be working on his night off, but she was certainly going to be telling her friends about being at the same party as him, and hopefully that tale would involve meeting him and his hot friend and not the pair of them walking away from her and Luce. Molly's eyes didn't know where to look. Beau Belrose was even more gorgeous up close and in person but his friend had an intensity that was just captivating. Molls could hear Beau's thoughts of their outfits and he was certainly right in thinking Luce was a head turner. She was a knockout. And Molls would tell her everything she'd heard later, if she even wanted to know. If she would even be about later. "What can I say?" She looked to Luce, "We love dressing up and meeting new people." Year after year Colm's parties were mediocre, fun in places but mostly Colm showing off his wealth. It made Molly a little uneasy at times but he had his heart in the right place so she could call him a friend. This year Molly hadn't really wanted to come along but she felt obligated to do so and boy, oh boy was she glad she'd made the effort. She looked to Beau's friend, "I'm Molly and this is my sister, Lucy." This year was probably Colm's best party yet.

YOU CAN BE A SWEET DREAM or a beautiful nightmare Angel rolled his eyes at the thought of anyone thinking he was a twat. The odds of that were very slim and he had a track record to prove it, but he knew Beau was just winding him up so he let it go, not wanting to start bickering with his brother just as two total hotties approached them. He looked the girls over as they stopped in front of them, the taller of the two introducing them. Molly and Lucy. Sisters. Excellent. Molly's cute sister could entertain Angel's sad sack of a brother while they got to know one another better. His gaze was verging on feral as he grinned at the two redheads, saving the best of it for Molly. "Festive is an understatement, ignore my brother, he doesn't get out much. You both look stunning." Angel had automatically stepped forward a little, leaving Beau slightly behind him, slightly blocked from view, slightly less important. It wasn't a conscious decision, just something he'd always done with his family or friends in these kinds of situations. He pushed himself forward into the spotlight and often didn't even think about who he was leaving in the dark until later on when he had time to pause and realise. "My name is Angel." He held his hand out to Molly, hoping she'd offer her own so he could plant a very cheesy but smooth kiss on the back of her hand just in case she needed an extra nudge to know that he thought she was smoking hot. DRENCH YOURSELF IN WORDS UNSPOKEN live your life with arms wide open Lucy's eyes widened as Molly mentioned the Magpies. "Oh, bloody hell!" She ogled the quidditch player openly as they approached, Molly jumping in with introductions as the two gorgeous guys - who just so happened to be brothers - complimented them. Lucy gave a shimmy and a grin, lights bouncing off of her dress onto the walls around them. The oldest of the two hotties introduced himself as Angel, and Lucy almost rolled her eyes as he made it blatantly clear that he wanted to get into Molls' fluffy knickers tonight. She was too busy staring at the other brother, the one who hadn't introduced himself yet, and she was doing her own head in trying to remember his name so she gave up the game and just decided to ask so she could put herself out of her ten seconds of misery. "Are you really a Magpie?" she asked, almost nudging Angel out of the way so she could see his brother better. He had the silkiest hair she'd ever seen, and Luce narrowed her eyes at him. "Molls said you are but I can't remember your name off the top of my head, she's a bigger quidditch fan than I am." She realised that might be offensive after it had already leapt from her mouth but it was too late so she just owned it and kept going. "No offense. I do recognise your face, who could forget such a handsome one?" 'Shut up, Lucy. Shut. Up.' SWANSKI

what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stand a little taller “Stunning” As if girls like these hadn’t heard that line a thousand times before. They were stunning but it was cheesy, cony even to say it and Beau thought AJ would have had better game than that. He was always wooing women, were they all so basic as to fall for that kind of line? Naturally his older brother stepped forward trying to get the attention of the girls. Peacocking at its finest. He was half waiting for AJ to swish his hair and squawk. Wouldn’t go amiss if he decided to flap his arms about while shaking his arse. At least Beau would be entertained by it all, although they'd likely lose the interest of the sisters and Beau wouldn't mind getting to know them better, they were beautiful and confident, two things he very much enjoyed. AJ stepping forward didn’t seem to bother the one called Lucy. Beau could feel her eyes on him and wondered if she was a fan. Usually it was the fans that stared and would ask a million questions or gush about how amazing he was, but as she spoke, she asked if he was really a Magpie. Beau laughed and started nodding his head, about to respond when she kept talking. Okay, so she wasn’t much of a fan then, at least not one that could recognise players and she thought he was handsome which was a nice ego boost, not that he needed it, but he appreciated it. “I am a Magpie,” He chuckled a somewhat embarrassed smile. He was used to being recognised but he wasn’t used to having to tell people about himself - people just knew that kind of thing or he could avoid talking about it. That certainly wasn't going to happen here. At least she thought he was handsome. He’d not forget that. “I’m Beau.” He reached out his hand, “I can honestly say it is a pleasure to meet you.” She’d certainly liven the party up, Beau was already taken in by her honest and outgoing nature. She seemed as though she was going to be a lot of fun tonight.

got the heart of a hopeless romantic, can you imagine A hundred thoughts swarmed Molly’s mind but only a couple were her own. She could see who the smooth one was of the hunky blonde duo but from what Molly had already heard of his thoughts coupled with her impossibly high standards, he wasn’t going to be anything other than a dull and potentially awkward conversation. His gaze left her feeling a little uneasy, he was intense and she supposed some girls liked that kind of thing in a guy, but she wasn’t really one of them. She wasn’t the sort that liked the appeal of a guy who looked eager to fornicate at the drop of a hat. She liked one that wanted to get to know her and not her knickers. Though she was smiling. The combination of Luce with Beau was proving to be most entertaining for Molly. She could happily take a seat, sip at some champagne, and watch those two awkwardly interact. Beau thought his brother was one step away from becoming a peacock while Luce was telling herself to shut up over her rambling. Molly loved it. They were quite a pair. “Angel,” Molly reached her hand forward to take his as she smiled, knowing what was coming - a sleazy kiss, unless, Merlin help her, something interrupted it, “Well aren't you appropriately named.” He did look angelic. Mostly. That lascivious smile of his suggested that perhaps he was more Lucifer than Gabriel, but he had the looks, oh Merlin did he have the looks.
